We are pleased to announce the participation of Professor Christos Georgakis, as the invited speaker of the CES-WGP3 opening ceremony on Tuesday, October 3 2017.
Dr. Christos Georgakis is Professor and Director of the Systems Research Institute (SRI) of Chemical and Biological Processes, Dept. of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Tufts University, USA. He received his ChemE Diploma from National Technical U. of Athens, his M.S. from University of Illinois and his Ph.D. from University of Minnesota. His research interests are in Modeling, Optimization, and Control of Batch Processes, Model Predictive and Nonlinear Control, Identification and Model Reduction, Statistical Process and Controller Monitoring, Integration of Process Design and Plant-Wide Control and applied mathematics. He is a Fellow of the International Federation of Automatic Control since 2007, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) since 2005 and the American Institute of Chemical Engineering (AIChE) since 1998. He has received numerous awards and distinctions, including the Computing in Chemical Engineering Award from the CAST Division of the AIChE and the Bernard Gordon Senior Fellow in Systems Engineering distinction from Tufts University.
